TRAINING:

Dr. Wilson is a board-certified neurosurgeon, dedicated comprehensive spine specialist, and US Army veteran from Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2005 and went on to pursue post-graduate research and mentorship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. In beautiful, rural East Tennessee, Dr. Wilson completed his medical training at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, graduating third in his class, with highest honors in 2010, earning memberships in the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Wilson went on to complete both his internship & residency in Neurosurgery at the Lillian S. Wells Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he broke ground by becoming the first African American graduate of that program in 2016! He is a recipient of the Chuck Shank Award for Excellence in Neurosurgery. Under the mentorship of a talented, multi-subspecialty faculty, he underwent additional training in both minimally invasive and complex spine surgery to bring a practical and highly personalized approach to the subspecialty of spine surgery.

MILITARY SERVICE:

After graduating from the University of Florida, Dr. Wilson served on active duty in the United States Army at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, TX, where he became one of the most productive neurosurgeons in the history of the National Defense Health System and held the title of Director of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He additionally completed tours in both Iraq and Germany in 2016 and 2017.

While on active duty, Dr. Wilson eagerly sought advanced specialty training in diagnosing and managing spine-related pathology, developing expertise in full-spectrum, comprehensive spine care, and spine neurotrauma. Dr. Wilson was honorably discharged in 2021, and proudly serves patients in the Greater Orlando, FL area as a comprehensive spine specialist with Orlando Neurosurgery!

CURRENT POSITION:

I now serve patients in the Greater Orlando area as a Comprehensive Spine Specialist with Orlando Neurosurgical Associates. We have a wonderful team of surgeons, physician extenders, and support personnel that work tirelessly to care for you.  My ultimate goal remains to deliver a superior healthcare experience. 

Family is extremely important to me; I have a wonderful wife Mary, and an amazing son Kohen and a baby girl, Noelle. I'm a foodie and gym rat at heart! When not in scrubs, you can find me spending time with family, working out, writing, traveling, or seeking the best culinary treats around!
